Our Courses

At Ferrometal Vocational Training Center (FVTC), we offer a diverse portfolio of certified training programs that are adapted to meeting the growing demands of the industrial and construction sectors in Cameroon. Training shall be 90% hands-on and 10% theoretical. Trainees shall be evaluated on both areas and progressively throughout their training duration. Our specialties are broken down as follows:

Welding & Assembly

We acquaint trainees in modern welding techniques including SMAW, GMAW (MIG/MAG) and GTAW (TIG) welding, coupled with mechanical assembly practices vital for manufacturing and construction. A detailed curriculum and its respective training phases shall be strictly observed in order to consistently keep the trainees on their toes while they grab the safety, ethical and professional skills required to become homologated welders at the end of their training. At the conclusion of their training, trainees will embody ultimate technical skills for occupying potential functions on domains of welding, sheet metal fabrication and plumbing/piping for both domestic and industrial structures.

Painting & Decorating

Trainees will explore surface preparation and treatment, paint application techniques, interior and exterior decorating, and color theory. The course also emphasizes safety and best environmental practices.

Building Construction

During this training course, learners are drilled on the timeless craft of building with brick, stone or concrete, where each piece of material is carefully positioned by hand and layer by layer in order to create a strong and lasting structure.  A mason is an architect of his craft when it comes to transforming raw elements into places for shelter, meaning and beauty.

Metal Fabrication

During the execution process of this discipline, trainees will learn to cut, bend, shape, drill, weld and assemble metal components using industry-standard tools and machinery. Emphasis is placed on safety, precision, structural integrity and fine finishing.

Plumbing

Trainees will master the skills of water system installation, piping, drainage, and sanitary works. Training includes hands-on practice in both modern and traditional plumbing systems.

Formwork

Trainees are going to learn the techniques of constructing formworks for concrete structures. Trainees are taught the use of timber, metal, and modular systems for beams, slabs, and columns.

Wood Carpentry

In this training course, trainees are taught on how to measure, cut, shape and install wooden structures and components.  They will be able to work with timber and other fine wood products construct, install and repair frameworks, furniture, fixtures and other components in residential, industrial and commercial locations.  Trainees will practice how to use hand tools and power tools to ensure precision and structural integrity, adhering to safety regulations and project specifications.

Electricity

Trainees get grounded in the principles of electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting in both residential and industrial settings. Our courses align with national electrical codes and safety regulations. Trainees will be able to insert themselves seamlessly into the job market after acquiring this unmeasurable skill that is indispensable for development.

Tiling

Trainees are going to acquire the artistic and technical expertise needed to install floor and wall tiles with precision. They will be instructed about surface preparation, pattern alignment, and aesthetic finishing.

Waterproofing

Trainees will learn modern waterproofing methods for walls, roofs, basements, and other wet areas of residential and industrial structures. This course ensures trainees can prevent structural damage caused by moisture penetration.
